a drawstring bag

my little nephew celebrated his 4th birthday, so I wanted to make him a little present for the big day…a drawstring bag.



it was a very simple bag to make. using material from op shops, I simply cut two rectangles, sewed in a french seam, and folded over the top for the drawstring. I attached the appliques using iron-on transfer and just sewed around the edges. add a few bright buttons, and it’s all done! now it’s ready to fill with toys, books, or anything he likes!
I saw a similar bag at the markets the other week, and it was lined with plastic…a great idea for a library bag or swimming bag.
