The next miniature dollhouse I’m making is inspired by The Alcott Study and will include the following:
That’s right, I’m making a miniature sewing room. Woot!
This is the book I’m using:
It had to be a book about sewing or anything craft-related, of course. I chose this because it was one of the cheapest at the second-hand bookstore and the endpapers had a beautiful blue/white pattern reminiscent of Delftware pottery.
PROGRESS:
That dress form by the corner was whipped up last night. And that sewing machine was handed down to me from the boyfriend’s cousin. It’s a fridge magnet.
I have spent many hours browsing eBay and looking for items to be added to this miniature sewing room. I knew that a sewing room would not be complete without a dress form but I just could not bring myself to click “BUY” knowing that I’d spend a lot of money for shipping and other fees. Last night, in what could only be called a feat of derring-do, I grabbed a random block of Styrofoam and started carving. With my actual dress form as reference, I came up with a rather voluptuous miniature version.
And that’s it for Show and Tell today. What are you making these days?
OH. Oh my. When you do the full finish reveal I am probably going to be short of breath and pass out. I didn’t know how you were going to top the study, and then you made the cafe…and now this.
These miniatures are so sweet and that book is a great find! You must have the patience of a saint to work on all these things – wow!
Thanks for your sweet comment! It made me grin from ear to ear ;-) Have a lovely Sunday/Monday xo
