Here are some simple card stock elf on the shelf ideas that your elf can easily build for himself if he runs out of ideas for places to hide! All you need to have in the house for him is a little bit of basic white card stock to help him get started!
Our elf on the shelf definitely has moments of brilliance and others where you can tell he’s being a little bit lazy with where he’s choosing to hide. This year he had a string of really fun ideas and we made sure to take a few photos so we could share the ideas. Make sure to show these to your elf and leave a few sheets of basic card stock out for him or her if you think your kids will like these ideas!

Card Stock Tent Camping Idea for Your Elf on the Shelf
This one was a lot of fun for our kids because we all love camping in this family. The kids really loved how our elf even left two little sticks with marshmallows on them to share!
Note the paper towel pillow and sleeping bag. 🙂
Warped Wall Card Stock Elf on the Shelf Idea
Who doesn’t love American Ninja Warrior? Our elf decided to make his own warped wall this year so he could train for North Pole Ninja Warrior. 🙂
Here’s how the warped wall looked the next day after he was done with it so you can get a better look.
Hot Air Balloon Card Stock Elf on the Shelf Idea
This one was great because it almost looked like the elf was floating in mid air! Of course, the balloon was really attached to the ceiling with a white piece of thread.
I’ve been trying to share some other good ones over on Instagram as they come up as well, so make sure to follow me over there for more like these!
