How to Do a Classic Smokey Eye Makeup

Step 1: First things first, prime your eyelids.

The last thing you'll want is to see your smokey eye makeup smudging and settling into fine lines within a few hours of application. So, always make it a point that you apply a good amount of primer over your lids and under your eyes before you begin with your eye makeup. It helps you keep your makeup intact for hours on end.

Step 2: Apply a creamy concealer

Once done priming your lids, the next step is to conceal them. Invest in a good quality concealer, rub it across your lids and your under-eye area with the help of your ring finger. This would not only help you to nullify any sort of shadows but also create a soft and smooth base for your smokey eyes makeup

Step 3: Treat your under-eye area with some loose powder

After concealing, take some loose powder and brush it atop your lids and under-eye area using a fluffy brush to cut down on eye shadow creasing and deal with any fallouts.

Step 4: Pat on some light eye shadow

Now that you're all prepped up, take a light or medium shadow, sweep it across your lid with a flat brush and blend it upward and outward perfectly into the crease.

Step 5: Apply some eyeliner to your lash line

To get that perfect smokey eye look, start with outlining your top lash line with a good amount of eyeliner and then start blending it towards the crease. Use a blending brush to give it a more soft & smudged look. Then, apply the same liner to your lower lash line and smudge it as well.

Step 6: Sweep a darker shadow

When finished with the eyeliner part, head to applying the darker shadow. Take an ample amount and sweep it over your lids. And then keep on blending it towards the inner corner of your eye until you achieve an aesthetical smokey look.

Step 7: Swipe on some highlighter

Here comes our favorite part! To neutralize the dark smokey eyes makeup and open up your eyes, put on some highlighter along your brow bone and over your inner eye corner.

Step 8: Curl up 'em lashes and apply some mascara!

Once you are done and dusted with all the above steps, curl up your lashes using an eyelash curler and then finish it off with a thick coat of mascara.
