Craft stick snowflakes

Your preschooler will be delighted to make these projects, created from large and small wooden craft sticks or leftover sticks from your favorite frozen treat. The snowflake ornaments make a sweet gift, the snowmen can be made into magnets and the trees can either be set in the branches of a Christmas tree or also made into magnets.

Supplies:

  • 3-5 craft sticks per snowflake
  • White craft puffs
  • White paint and paintbrush
  • Fine silver glitter
  • Elmer’s Early Learners Glue Pen
  • String or magnet (optional)

Directions:

  1. First, paint all of the craft sticks white. Allow to dry completely.
  2. Next, glue one stick on top of another, in an X pattern.
  3. Then, crisscross that X pattern with another stick and glue into place. You can continue to stack and glue sticks, as desired.
  4. When that glue is completely dry, coat the front side of the snowflake in a thin layer of glue, using the fine tip of the Elmer’s Early Learners Glue Pen.
  5. Sprinkle glitter to coat the glue and let dry.
  6. Finally, glue on the white puff balls. Allow to dry completely.
  7. Then, either glue a magnet to the back or tie a string around one of the ends to hang.
