Cotton kitchen twine and few plastic spiders transform pumpkins from bright and cheery to creepy-crawly in a matter of minutes.

Materials:

• Straight pins or hot-glue gun and glue sticks
• Cotton kitchen twine (like Cotton Butcher's Kitchen Twine, $5; )
• Pumpkin(s)
• Scissors
• Plastic spider(s)(optional)

Directions:

1. Pin or hot-glue end of twine to bottom of pumpkin. Loop twine up toward the stem. Wrap twine 90 degrees around the stem, then back under the pumpkin and up from the other side, securing with pins or hot glue as needed. Continue to wrap vertically all around pumpkin as desired.

2. Pull the end of the twine toward the stem, then loosely drape a loop of twine horizontally around the top of the pumpkin, securing with pins or hot glue as needed. Repeat, making loose loops from top to bottom as desired.

3. Cut twine and pin or glue end to underside of pumpkin. Hot-glue or pin spider to web, if desired.
