The Healthy Chef is an Australian nutrition + supplement brand that designs quality products for women to support a healthy, vibrant life. The Healthy Chef was founded by Teresa Cutter: Nutritionist, PT and Chef.

Healthy Chef products are science-based and made in Australia from the finest wholefood ingredients and are free from gluten, fillers, gums, and sugar.

The Healthy Chef range includes wild and sustainable marine collagen for healthy skin, meal replacement and protein shakes for weight management, probiotics, greens powders and magnesium for gut health.

The healthy chef by Teresa Cutter has products that support weight management, menopause, dry skin and loss of collagen, bone density, stress + anxiety and gut health such as bloating or slow motility.

A TIMELINE

See below to read more about the journey of The Healthy Chef and what led Founder, Teresa Cutter, to create the company it is today.

  • 1968

    Teresa was born in the small country town of Bunbury, in Western Australia.

  • 1971

    Teresa first learns to cook with her Polish grandparents: Ciocia and Wujek. They came from Poland after the war to set up a new life in Western Australia.

    Ciocia’s food was simple, delicious, and nourishing and that no-fuss style of cooking that has formed the foundation to the recipes and products that Teresa creates.

  • 1978

    At the age of 10, Teresa was inspired by USA aerobics guru, Richard Simmons, who had a weekly TV show that focused on FOOD - NUTRITION – MIND. 

  • 1989

    Teresa starts her chef's apprenticeship at 5-star Lord Forrest Hotel in Bunbury, WA, under the guidance of renowned executive chef, Neal Jackson. She worked in the fine dining section emulating the style of nouvelle cuisine: an approach to cooking in French cuisine characterised by lighter, more delicate healthier dishes with an emphasis on presentation.

  • 1990

    Teresa marries her husband, Paul, and moves to Perth to work alongside executive chefs: Chris Taylor and Bert Lozy at Alan Bond's Obervation City 5-star resort hotel. The hard work pays off and Teresa wins Apprentice of the Year several times, as well as a gold medal in the prestigious cooking competition, Salon Culinaire.

  • 1992

    Teresa starts weight training, competes in several fitness figure competitions and wins a silver medal at the Australian Fitness Figure Championships.

  • 1996

    Teresa starts writing a regular newspaper column in the Sunday Times as The Healthy Chef and a column for Men's Health Magazine.

    The list grows quickly, and she starts to contribute to:

  • 1996

    Teresa launches Healthy Chef Catering + Food, focusing on healthy and delicious food for film and TV crews. She also freelances as a food stylist and recipe developer for major brands, including WA Health Department.

    Chosen to compete in Gladiators as a contestant and started traditional Muay Thai kickboxing.

  • 2001

    Made the BIG Move from Perth to Sydney, and started studying Nutrition at Deakin University.

  • 2002

    Teresa publishes the first 3 cookbooks with New Holland Publishers:

    Bite Me, The anti-ageing Cookbook, Fit Food.

  • 2004

    Starts submission wrestling for self-defence and fitness.
    After 18 stitches and a dislocated shoulder, becomes a kickboxing instructor and a personal trainer.

  • 2005

    After a successful "Get on Track" TV wellness series with Ray Martin on A Current Affair, Teresa becomes a regular guest on Channel Nine's Today Breakfast Show.

  • 2005

    The Healthy Chef trademark is registered.

    Murdoch Books publish Teresa's 4th health-related book: The 80/20 Diet, voted by the UK Times as the best healthy cookbook book for busy mums.

  • 2006

    The Healthy Chef Café is launched in Avalon Beach, Sydney: a mainstream wellness café concept with delicious food.

    As Founder and Executive Chef, Teresa designed all the recipes for the café,catering for the mainstream health-conscious consumer who loves good food and has made the conscious decision to maximise their health and well-being.

    The café becomes a popular destination for locals & celebrities such as Elle McPherson, Megan Gale and Kelly Slater.

  • 2010

    Healthy Chef wins best muesli at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show for The Healthy Chef Crunchy Granola (you can find the recipe in The Healthy Chef - Purely Delicious cookbook!).

    Teresa becomes the Australian Ambassador for Kamalaya Health Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand.

  • 2011

    thehealthychef.com website goes live, inspiring people to cook easy, healthy recipes at home.

  • 2012

    The Healthy Chef supplement range is launched beginning the journey into functional foods.

    Healthy Chef are the first to bring Organic Pea Protein ad Pure Native WPI into the Australian market.

  • 2013

    Launched Organic Superfood -
    A berry-tasting superfood-filled elixir for the whole family that promises to deliver a heaping dose of skin and gut-supporting nutrients, prebiotics, and antioxidants.

  • 2014

    Introduced Naked Chocolat - Australia's first sugar-free drinking chocolate, free from artificial sweeteners, milk powders and additives, 100% pure and natural.

  • 2014

    The Healthy Chef partners with InterContinental Hotels Group menu for recipe development.

    Working with 68 Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Teresa designed 60 healthy recipes. A great opportunity to be able to support guests and help them to stay healthy, productive, and energized while traveling and working overseas.

    Teresa becomes the first female chef to be part of the IHG Culinary Panel.

  • 2014

    Introduced Blender Bottle -
    The ideal companion for any on-the-go activities with its durable twist lid that is designed to stay on, so no more spills or splashes.

  • 2014

    Brought out Immune Support -
    With Vitamin C, D, Zinc and Elderberry to invigorate, revitalise, strengthen, and support your immune system.

  • 2015

    The Healthy Chef self-published the cookbook: The Healthy Chef - Purely Delicious, the coffee table cookbook Teresa had always wanted to do. The book wins the Independent Publisher Awards, based in New York City.

    Teresa also publishes her book, Perfect Digestive Health, which was a self-help book based on her own journey to restore healthy gut function.

    Launched Everyday Greens -
    A delicious nutrient-dense blend of greens packed full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, probiotics, and L-glutamine to support digestion.

  • 2015

    Introduced Matcha Tea + Whisk + Scoop -
    Provides a steady and sustained energy boost throughout the day, chlorophyll for detoxing, increases metabolism, supports weight management and more!

    Brought out our Tea + Tisane Range -
    Our hand-blended formulas for Stress, Beauty, Energy, Sleep, Digestion and Immunity will nourish and help support health, balance, and vitality.

    Launched Turmeric Latte -
    A delicious certified organic blend of turmeric, cinnamon, ginger and wild vanilla bean. Turmeric is rich in the powerful antioxidant Curcumin that possesses an impressive list of health benefits.

    The Healthy Chef published the Healthy Baking cookbook: a passion project that becomes a winner of the Independent Publisher Awards and best-selling cookbook.

    The Healthy Chef recipe app is launched on iTunes with 200+ recipes. The app is rated #1 in the iTunes Food & Drink category.

  • 2018

    Introduced Chai Latte -
    A soothing, sugar-free, and caffeine-free blend of pure rooibos tea extract and nourishing aromatics such as vanilla, cinnamon, + ginger. Chai has been known to support wellbeing and relax the mind.

  • 2018

    The Healthy Chef launches the first Wild Marine Collagen available in the Australian Market, followed by Beauty Collagen and Gut Collagen.

    Designed for supporting healthy joints, bones, skin, and supporting digestive health.

  • 2019

    The Healthy Chef publish Earth to Table: a vegetarian cookbook. The launch event is attended by 250 media and guests.

    Earth To Table is a winner for the Australia in the Gourmand World Awards for best health & nutrition plant-based cookbook.

  • 2019

    Launched Body Shaping Shake -
    Plant-based protein meal replacement combined with antioxidants, probiotics, digestive enzymes, vitamin D and chromium to support healthy weight management.

  • 2020

    Introduced Beauty Collagen -
    A citrus flavoured blend of ethically sourced pure hydrolysed marine collagen, natural Vitamin C, Zinc + B5; specifically formulated to promote collagen synthesis and support skin, hair, and nail health.

  • 2020

    Partnered with Sofitel 5-star luxury hotel. The Healthy Chef integrated health and wellness into all aspects of the guest experience.

    The new offering included an exclusive room package as well as a series of deliciously nourishing drinks incorporating some of the Healthy Chef best-selling products such as Marine Collagen, Matcha Tea and Pure Native WPI.

    Teresa created 2 signature smoothies for Sofitel Darling Harbour guests; The Up + Go Coffee Shake, and Everyday Greens Smoothie, designed to provide essential vitamins and protein.

  • 2021

    The range is extended with the introduction of Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) certified products that included Magnesium+ and immune+ oral spray.

    The Healthy Chef app is re-launched as a subscription model with over 900 recipes, videos, fully integrated shopping list and healthy meal programs.

  • 2021

    Brought out Gut Collagen -
    A powerhouse of wild, hydrolysed marine collagen, L-glutamine, magnesium, and probiotics, formulated to support healthy and happy gut.

  • 2022

    Healthy Chef launches Pure Grass Fed Collagen - derived from pasture-raised, grass-fed cows to support lean, toned muscle, skin, gut and bone health. Completely flavourless and odourless, it dissolves clear every time in hot and cold liquids.

    Launched Collagen Coffee -
