Hello Natural Beauty!

The product information card listed the products included in the box and a little info about each item. There’s also a $3 off coupon code valid for beauty purchases of $15 or more, and can be used online or in-store.

Everything in the April box!

Shea Moisture African Black Soap Mask ($1.04) I like the packaging! It means business! This product claims to draw out dirt and congestion while helping absorb excess oil and improve the appearance of troubled skin. It is a blend of African black soap and raw shea butter with tamarind and tea tree oil. It is phthalate-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and cruelty-free too!

It is very easy to apply as it glides on my skin smoothly. It doesn’t have a thick consistency and the instruction says to apply it thinly so it’s not necessary to build it up on the face. It has a slight tingling sensation after application but it’s a tolerable one. You know how usually clay masks dry when you use it and it gets hard to talk? Not this mask. It didn’t totally dry out, maybe because of shea butter. It will take a while to know if I had breakouts, but so far so good. Is the product revolutionary? No, but my face does feel rejuvenated.

Method Experimental Simply Nourish Body Wash ($1.32) The main ingredients of this body wash are coconut, rice milk, and shea butter. It cleanses and moisturizes the skin, minus the harmful components like parabens and phthalates.

It has a light pleasant smell of coconut and It also tends to linger. The formula is also very creamy with a mild lather.

Nourish Organic Face Lotion ($5.29) This face lotion is as natural as you can get. It’s free from phthalates, parabens, cruelty, fragrance, and gluten. To top it all, it’s also USDA-certified organic, vegan, and non-GMO. Recommended for normal skin types, it uses the Moroccan argan oil and rosewater to provide unmatched hydration to the skin. It also helps even out your skin tone. I’m not a fan of this for my face because of the orange, but I like it well enough on my neck!

It also a faint citrus scent. I think this would be a good base for a primer because it’s lightweight.

Weleda Skin Food ($3.96) This is a whole body moisturizer for dry and rough skin, so expect intense hydration! A small amount goes a long way. It’s best for dry areas like hands, feet, and elbows. It has a rather thick creamy consistency with a floral scent and it works really well.

It’s good for your travel kit too! It contains extracts of rosemary, chamomile, and a nourishing base of sunflower and sweet almond oil that helps in giving the skin a healthy radiance.

I first came across this brand in my Birchbox and I’m pumped to try out another set – I think this brand is absolutely fabulous.

Love Beauty & Planet Coconut Shampoo ($3.99) The formula cleansed my hair really well, but it was not drying. I also like how it left my hair softer and manageable.

Love Beauty & Planet Coconut Conditioner ($3.99) It smells great and it conditions all types of hair. The conditioner is lightweight but it gives me a voluminous, bouncy, and no frizz hair.

These products are budget-friendly products that aim to make us beautiful while giving love to our planet, thus the name. All bottles but the cap are made from 100% recyclable materials. (They are still working on their caps.) These products are vegan and free from parabens, phthalates, aluminum, and dye.

Schmidt’s Rose + Vanilla Natural Deodorant ($1.32) The deodorant smells of rose with a hint of vanilla! It is made from natural plant and mineral derived ingredients, and it’s free of aluminum, parabens, and artificial fragrance. However, it’s simply a deodorant and not an anti-perspirant. It also leaves some residue when applied. I’ll pass this one to hubby – he loves Schmidt’s (I buy it for him all the time) and now he can smell like a bed of roses!

Target did a great job curating these products. I could do with some more variety – perhaps one makeup product! – but I recognize the effort of putting natural products together and I was really excited for the shampoo & conditioner set. I love that a lot of companies now go for a cause and make natural and organic products. At the end of the day, there’s nothing wrong with taking care of our bodies and our planet at the same time.
