Tutorial: flowers one way or another
I have a great spring time tutorial for you!
Does anyone else have a major soft spot for the dollar section at Target? I love to look and see what I can find, and for the past few years, they have sold these mini flower pots with seeds and soil. They are cute, but the packaging…not so much. So I came up with this:
Here is what you need to make these:
- Flower Pot
- Paper
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue Dots
Start by unwrapping the flower pot and tracing the packaging onto pretty scrapbook paper. Trace onto the back side of the paper.
While you have the original wrapper next to your traced wrapper, draw dotted lines where the folds should be just so it is easier to know exactly where to fold when the time comes.
Cut out your new wrapper out.
I used smaller scissors to cut out the middle part.
This is what you will have when you are done cutting.
While tracing, I realized that there are some directions on the original packaging. So I cut them out of the original packaging and used a glue dot to stick them on the inside of the new wrapper.
I folded the wrapper on the dotted lines I had drawn earlier, and used a glue dot to secure the wrapper.
This is what I had, but it was still pretty plain.
So I decided to add some ribbon and cute flower earrings.
Attach the earrings to a cardstock tag, punch a hole, add some ribbon, and tie a knot.
Because even if you can’t grow your real flowers, you will still have something pretty. Flowers one way or another!
