Disney Halloween Cupcakes: Spiderweb Recipe
Spiderweb Cupcakes
*makes 24 cupcakes
Ingredients:
- 24 cupcakes (made from a cake mix or your own recipe)
- 2 cups white frosting (pre-made, store-bought or click HERE for my Buttercream Icing Recipe)
- 2 tubes black gel icing
- toothpicks
Directions:
Bake cupcakes according to package or recipe directions. Let cool completely. When cool, frost smoothly with prepared white frosting. Take the tubes of black gel icing and insert a pin or other sharp object into the tip to make a fine opening. Squeeze a small black dot into the center of the cupcake. Now draw 3 circles around the dot, each circle larger than the previous. Your cupcake should now look like a target. Holding a toothpick at a 90-degree angle to the surface of the cupcake, place the point in the center of the target and gently pull out towards the edge. Continue doing this around the cupcake until you reach back around to the first line. Your cupcake should now look like a spiderweb. Repeat for each cupcake. *Variations: 1. Dye your frosting orange or purple with food colorings for a more colorful and festive cupcake.2. Add a plastic spider as a decoration on top of each cupcake, just be sure and warn the kiddies that they are not edible. 😀
