Honey Ham Glaze Recipe

I know this is another non-Disney recipe, but I made a honey ham for dinner tonight, and it was so yummy I wanted to share the recipe with my readers (It tasted just like one of those expensive honey hams you can buy from a certain company). Hopefully, it will be of help to you this holiday season. 😉

Honey Ham Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey additional brown sugar for sprinkling

Directions:

Place the first three ingredients in a saucepan and heat on medium until sugar granules have dissolved, and it is a smooth caramel color. Score* your ham and place cut-side down in a large pan or casserole dish. Then using a pastry brush (I highly recommend a silicone brush, that’s what I use) cover the entire surface of the ham with the honey glaze. Place in oven at the temperature for the time recommended on ham packaging.     Remove from the oven every 15 minutes and brush with more glaze until done. Remove from oven, then brush with the remaining glaze and then sprinkle brown sugar on top. Replace in the oven but turn on the broiler this time and cook for 3-4 minutes to caramelize. Watch it carefully, and the sugar can easily burn. Remove from the oven and let sit a few minutes before carving.

Enjoy!!

*Score means to cut light crosswise markings on the surface of the ham, creating diamonds.
