Crafty Critters felt creations – Squirrel

What you will need:

  • Felt – various browns and a tiny bit of black for her nose
  • Scissors
  • 1 black button
  • Glue gun and glue
  • Ribbon (optional)
  • Thread and needle
  • Stuffing

Begin by using your FREE pattern (see below) and cut out the pattern pieces in your felt. Use the glue gun to attach the arm and leg onto the front main body pattern piece.

Flip her over and apply glue to the length and side, leaving a section clear with no glue.

Now is a good time to quickly attach the ear so that it gets wedged between the front and back body pieces.

Secure the back body pattern piece to the front body pattern piece along this line of glue. You should have a section left open where you can pop the fluffy stuffing inside.

Glue down this open flap so that your critter is completely sealed.

Right now she resembles a peculiar looking kangaroo. to prevent this you now need to add the tail to the front, ensuring that it doesn’t flop everywhere. You may need to add more glue further up the body to prevent this.

All that is left is to attach the felt acorn (included in the pattern) a little black nose, a button eye and perhaps a little bit of ribbon for a pop of colour… and so that everyone knows she is a girl squirrel of course!

There you have it… Crafty critter number 2 complete, perfect as an Autumnal decoration, for storing those pins, or just for looking darn adorable.
